The Faculty of Forestry at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a two-day P2EH briefing from June 19–20, 2025, at the USU Kwala Bekala Campus. The event featured lectures from expert lecturers on topics such as Vegetation Inventory, NTFPs, Environmental Services, Wildlife Inventory, and First Aid and Rope Techniques (PPGDTT). The briefing concluded with an exam to assess students' understanding before conducting field practice.

HUMAS FAHUTAN — The Faculty of Forestry at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a briefing for the Forest Ecosystem Introduction Practice (P2EH) over two days, from June 19 to 20, 2025, at the USU Kwala Bekala Campus. The activity was attended by all participating students of the 2023 P2EH class as a preparation before conducting field practice.

 

The briefing featured lectures by expert lecturers from various forestry disciplines. The first day included presentations by Dr. Kansih Sri Hartini, S.Hut., M.P. on Vegetation Inventory and Analysis, Dr. Ir. Luthfi Hakim, S.Hut., M.Si., IPM on the Utilization of Non-Timber Forest Products (NTFP), and Dr. Achmad Siddik Thoha, S.Hut., M.Si., on Environmental Services. In addition, participants engaged in a practical session on First Aid and Rope Techniques (PPGDTT).

 

 

The second day of the briefing featured lectures by Dr. Ir. Bejo Slamet, S.Hut., M.Si., IPM on Techniques for Preparing and Presenting the P2EH Report, as well as a presentation by Dr. Ir. Ma’rifatin Zahrah, M.Si. on Wildlife Inventory. The activity was concluded with a final exam to measure students’ understanding of the material presented.

 

This activity is part of the Faculty of Forestry’s effort to ensure that students are both academically and technically prepared to carry out field practice. It also serves as a strategic measure to support the achievement of the Main Performance Indicators (IKU) of higher education institutions, which emphasize learning beyond the campus.
