Good news came from the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU). The reason is that the Faculty of Forestry, located at Kwala Bekala, Simalingkar, Deli Serdang, has just obtained an SNI ISO / IEC 17025: 2017 accreditation certificate from April 23, 2024, to April 22, 2029, obtained from KAN in the category of Testing Laboratories that Implement General Requirements for the Competence of Testing Laboratories and Calibration Laboratories.
The submission of the certificate was carried out in the meeting room of the USU Faculty of Forestry which was handed over directly by the USU Vice Rector I, Dr. Edy Ikhsan, S.H., M.A to the Dean of the USU Faculty of Forestry, Dr. Rudi Hartono, S.Hut, M.Si., IPM who was accompanied by the Head of the USU Forest Products Technology Laboratory, Dr. Luthfi Hakim, S.Hut., M.Si., IPM., ASEAN Eng., Vice Dean I of the USU Faculty of Forestry, Dr. Alfan Gunawan Ahmad, S.Hut., M.Si, and Vice Dean III of the USU Faculty of Forestry, Prof. Dr. Agus Purwoko, S.Hut., M.Si.
During his visit, Dr. Edy Ikhsan expressed his high appreciation to the USU Faculty of Forestry for its efforts and success in achieving the international certificate. Dr. Rudi Hartono also conveyed the same thing in his speech, expressing his high appreciation to the entire academic community who had enthusiastically played a role in achieving the international certification. Dr. Rudi Hartono also expressed his gratitude to all parties involved, especially to Dr. Ir. Luthfi Hakim as Head of the USU Forest Products Technology Laboratory and Wahyuni Pulungan S.Hut as Laboran of the USU Forest Products Technology Laboratory, who have worked hard to prepare everything needed in the evaluation process.
The Forest Product Technology Laboratory, also known as the THH Lab, is an aspect that supports the activities of the Three Pillars of Higher Education, especially in the field of research, conducted by lecturers, students, and partners from within and outside the country. Therefore, international certification is one of the critical aspects of supporting the various processes that take place in the laboratory. The international certification that has been successfully achieved is expected to increase the motivation to achieve other achievements in the future, which will automatically improve the quality of the laboratory.
