HUMAS FAHUTA - The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), celebrated the graduation of more than 100 graduates during the Graduation Ceremony Period IV of the 2025/2026 Academic Year, held on Saturday, August 28, 2026, at the Universitas Sumatera Utara Auditorium. The occasion marked an important milestone for students of the Faculty of Forestry USU who had completed their academic journey and officially became graduates and alumni.

In an atmosphere filled with pride and emotion, the graduates of the Faculty of Forestry USU participated in the ceremonial proceedings alongside graduates from various faculties across Universitas Sumatera Utara. Wearing their graduation gowns, the graduates came together to celebrate the long journey they had completed throughout their higher education.

For the graduates, the ceremony was more than a formal event. It marked a transition from student life to a new chapter as graduates. Behind the proceedings lay a long journey shaped by learning, research, field practice, completion of final projects, and various experiences that contributed to their character and competencies.

Their achievements were also made possible through the support of many parties. Families, lecturers, education staff, friends, and the entire academic community played important roles in supporting the students throughout their journey toward graduation. Therefore, the graduation ceremony served as an opportunity to celebrate their achievements and express gratitude for the process they had undertaken.

With the completion of their studies, the graduates are now entering a broader sphere of service and professional contribution. The knowledge and competencies they have gained in forestry are expected to serve as a foundation for contributing to various fields, including forest resource management, conservation, environmental management, research, and other professional sectors.

The growing number of graduates also represents the Faculty of Forestry USU’s contribution to preparing competent, adaptive human resources who are committed to sustainability. Forestry graduates are expected to carry forward the spirit of the rimbawan and apply the knowledge they have gained to benefit society and the environment.

The graduation ceremony aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4: Quality Education, through the commitment to producing graduates equipped with the knowledge and competencies needed to address future challenges. In addition, the graduates’ readiness to enter the professional world also supports SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth.
