USU Faculty of Forestry visited UPM and INTROP to strengthen international collaborations, signing IA and MOA agreements. The delegation also met the Education Attaché at the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.

The Dean of the Faculty of Forestry USU, Dr. Ir. Rudi Hartono, Vice Dean I Dr. Alfan Gunawan Ahmad, and Head of the Forestry Study Program Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto, conducted a working visit to Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Selangor, Malaysia. The visit aimed to accompany students participating in the Summer Camp and to follow up on collaborations with the Faculty of Forestry and Environment (FHAS) and the Institute of Tropical Forestry and Forest Product (INTROP) UPM.


At FHAS, the delegation was welcomed by the Dean of FPHS UPM, Prof. Dr. Hazandy Abdul Hamid, Vice Dean Prof. Madya Dr. Kamziah Abd. Kudus, Vice Dean Prof. Dr. Latifah Abd Manaf, Head of the Department of Forestry Science and Biodiversity Prof. Madya Dr. Norizah Kamarudin, Dr. Nor Aknar Abdul Aziz, and Dr. Paiman Bawon. During the meeting, two implementation arrangements (IA) were signed, namely international mobility staff and international mobility student, along with the finalization of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the two institutions.


At INTROP, the delegation was received by the Head of the Biorem Laboratory, Dr. Ruzana Adibah binti Mohd Sanusi, Dr. Norfaryanti Kamaruddin, Dr. Ayu Rafiqah Shafi, Dr. Mohd Radji bin Ali, and Pn. Siti Nurulhuda Ahmad Tarmidzi. INTROP comprises three main laboratories: Sustainable Bioresource Management, Biocomposite Technology, and Biopolymers and Derivative Materials.
Additionally, the delegation visited the Indonesian Embassy in Kuala Lumpur to meet with the Education and Culture Attaché, Prof. Muhammad Firdaus, Ph.D.
