The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held a meeting to discuss progress and strategies for ASIIN International Accreditation as part of efforts to strengthen academic quality and global competitiveness.

HUMAS FAHUTAN – The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), held a Progress Meeting on ASIIN International Accreditation on Thursday, 8 January 2026, at the Meeting Room of the Faculty of Forestry, USU. This meeting was part of the faculty’s ongoing efforts to ensure the readiness of all documents and supporting aspects toward achieving international accreditation.

 

The meeting was attended by faculty leaders, including the Vice Dean I, Dr. Ir. Alfan Gunawan Ahmad, S.Hut., M.Si., the Head of the Undergraduate Forestry Study Program, Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng., the Secretary of the Undergraduate Forestry Study Program, Dr. Evalina Herawati, S.Hut., M.Si., the Secretary of the Master’s Forestry Study Program, Dr. Nurdin Sulistiyono, S.Hut., M.Si., expert staff, the Head of Administrative Affairs, subdivision heads, as well as educational support staff.

 

During the meeting, participants comprehensively discussed the progress of ASIIN accreditation that has been achieved, while also identifying various challenges still faced in meeting international standards.

In addition to evaluating achievements, the meeting focused on strategic discussions regarding acceleration measures and solutions to existing constraints, covering academic aspects, curriculum, governance, and administrative support. Each unit was given the opportunity to provide input to further strengthen the readiness of the Faculty of Forestry, USU, for the next stages of the accreditation process.

 

Through this meeting, the Faculty of Forestry, USU reaffirmed its commitment to continuously improving the quality of education and academic governance, while strengthening the faculty’s position at both national and international levels in line with Universitas Sumatera Utara’s vision toward global recognition.
