The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara, held a communal iftar on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Plaza Rimbawan. The event served as a meaningful occasion to strengthen camaraderie among staff through a series of activities, including Qur’an recitation, remarks, a religious lecture, and the breaking of the fast followed by Maghrib prayer in congregation.

HUMAS FAHUTAN – In an effort to strengthen ties during the holy month of Ramadan, the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), organized a communal iftar attended by faculty staff. The event took place on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Plaza Rimbawan, starting at 17:30 WIB.

The program began with an opening by the master of ceremonies, Elsa Manora, followed by the recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an delivered by M. Trio Subari and Nurbaiti, creating a solemn and reflective atmosphere ahead of iftar.

 

The Chairperson of the Islamic Holiday Committee (PHBI) of Masjid An-Nur, Faculty of Forestry USU, Dr. Ir. Pindi Patana, S.Hut., M.Sc., IPU., in his remarks, stated that this communal iftar is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen Islamic brotherhood (ukhuwah Islamiyah) and foster unity within the faculty environment.

The Dean of the Faculty of Forestry USU, Prof. Dr. Ir. Rudi Hartono, S.Hut., M.Si., IPM., also expressed appreciation for the successful organization of the event. He emphasized the importance of such gatherings as a platform to enhance collegial relationships and strengthen the spirit of togetherness in supporting academic and administrative activities.

 

Before the breaking of the fast, a short religious sermon was delivered by Dr. Ir. Alfan Gunawan Ahmad, S.Hut., M.Si., who encouraged attendees to use Ramadan as a moment to deepen faith and devotion, while also fostering unity and social care.

 

Following the call to prayer, all attendees shared the iftar meal together, continued with the Maghrib prayer in congregation, and concluded with a communal dinner in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Through this activity, it is hoped that the bonds among staff within the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara, will continue to grow stronger, reinforcing a sense of unity amidst academic and administrative responsibilities.
