USU’s Undergraduate Program in Forestry and Master’s Program in Forestry conducted ASIIN accreditation benchmarking at Unja. Unja's Forestry Program showcased strong support through facilities and funding of up to IDR 33 billion.

From July 31 to August 1, 2023, the Undergraduate Program in Forestry and Master’s Program in Forestry at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) conducted an ASIIN international accreditation benchmarking visit to the Forestry Study Program at Universitas Jambi (Unja). The delegation was led by the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Forestry USU, Dr. Alfan Gunawan Ahmad.


The delegation included Dr. Tito Sucipto, Head of the Forestry Study Program USU, and Secretary Dr. Evalina Herawati; Dr. Samsuri, Head of the Master’s Program in Forestry, and Secretary Dr. Nurdin Sulistiyono; Head of the THH Laboratory, Dr. Luthfi Hakim; Head of the BDH Laboratory, Dr. Deni Elfiati; GJM Chair, Dr. Nelly Anna; Academic Affairs Specialist to Vice Dean I, Harisyah Manurung, M.Si.; Student Affairs Specialist to Vice Dean I, Ahmad Baiquni Rangkuti, M.Si.; Head of Administration, Yani Arifiani Lubis, M.Si.; Academic Subdivision Head, Sahlel; and Student Affairs Subdivision Head, Era Salidah.


The delegation was warmly received by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Unja, Prof. Dr. Suadi, Vice Dean I, Dr. Bambang Irawan, Head of the Forestry Department, Dr. Eva Achmad, Forestry Study Program Head, Maria Ulfa, M.Si., and other faculty members. The main event, featuring a presentation on the international accreditation process at Unja’s Forestry Study Program, was held in the Senate Room of the Faculty of Agriculture Unja. The session began with welcoming remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture Unja and the Vice Dean I of the Faculty of Forestry USU, followed by an exchange of souvenirs.


The presentation, led by Unja’s Forestry Study Program Head, alongside former Study Program Head, Riana Anggraini, M.Si., detailed their accreditation process, administration, planning, and academic evaluations managed through Siakad (Academic Administration System), which offers comprehensive features. Unja's strong commitment to international accreditation was highlighted through its allocation of facilities and funding, totaling IDR 33 billion, for the Forestry Study Program until 2026.


The USU delegation also visited Unja’s campus facilities, including lecture rooms, administrative offices, laboratories, studios, and the Faculty of Forestry’s educational forest.
