USU Faculty of Forestry held PKM 2024 coaching, featuring 11 student proposals for direct evaluation. Aiming for funding approval and success at PIMNAS.

The Student Creativity Program (PKM) is an implementation of the Tri Dharma of Higher Education initiated by the Directorate General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology (Ditjen Diktiristek). PKM aims to foster, facilitate, and realize students' creative and innovative ideas. This program is expected to act as a catalyst for enhancing students' soft skills and competencies in line with the Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program.


In preparation for PKM, the Faculty of Forestry at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) held a coaching session for the preparation of the 2024 PKM proposals. The session took place over two days, January 24-25, 2024, at the USU Bekala Campus. The event was attended by the Dean, Vice Dean 1, Head of the Study Program, PKM Coordinator of the Faculty of Forestry, PKM Center, and supervising lecturers.


In their remarks, the Dean of the Faculty of Forestry, Dr. Ir. Rudi Hartono, S.Hut., M.Si., IPM; Vice Dean 1, Dr. Ir. Alfan Gunawan Ahmad; and Head of the Forestry Undergraduate Program, Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU, expressed their appreciation for PKM student participants who dedicated time to drafting proposals. Teams that pass funding stages and reach PIMNAS will be granted academic recognition ranging from 3 to 10 credits. The Dean also thanked PKM Center for their support and presence at this event.


During the coaching, 11 PKM draft proposals were presented directly by student teams. The proposals were evaluated by the PKM Center team, consisting of Dr. Rini Hardiyanti, S.TP., and Suri Mutia Siregar, S.Psi., M.Psi.


The coaching session was also attended by seven PKM supervising lecturers: Dr. Ir. Luthfi Hakim, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU; Dr. Ir. OK Hasnanda, M.Si., IPM; Dr. Ir. Ma’rifatin Zahra, M.Si.; Harisyah Manurung, S.Hut., M.Si.; Suri Fadillah, S.Hut., M.Si.; Dr. Ir. Tito Sucipto, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU; and Dr. Anita Zaitunah, S.Hut., M.Sc., as the PKM Coordinator of the Faculty of Forestry.


There is great hope that the 11 proposals coached during the session will secure funding and advance to PIMNAS. Aamiin.
