Tito Sucipto was born in Banjarsari, Ciamis, West Java on February 21, 1979. This Yogyakarta-born man is the second child of two siblings. He is currently married and blessed with three children. His academic journey began with a Bachelor's degree (S.Hut.) from IPB (1997), followed by a Master's degree (M.Si.) from IPB (2006), a Doctorate (Dr.) from UGM (2016), and a Professional Program (Ir.) from IPB (2019). In 2023, Dr. Tito obtained the ASEAN Engineer International Competency Certificate from AFEO. Throughout his undergraduate to doctoral education, Dr. Tito received scholarships from the ORBIT Hasri Ainun Habibie Foundation, Postgraduate Education Scholarship (BPPS) from the Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia, and the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP) Scholarship from the Ministry of Finance of Indonesia.
Since 2003, he has been a lecturer and researcher in the Undergraduate Program in Forestry at the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara. From 2021 to 2026, he served as USU's Head of the Undergraduate Program in Forestry. As a lecturer, he fulfills the three pillars of higher education, namely education, research, and community service through various activities.
Dr. Tito's expertise lies in forest product technology, biomaterial engineering, wood adhesives, biocomposites, and non-wood forest products, which he applies through research, publications, patents, books, and dissemination in national and international seminars. Some of the awards he has received include Pioneer Registered Forestry Engineering from the Ministry of Environment and Forestry of Indonesia (2021), Sakura Science Exchange Program from the Japan Science and Technology Agency (2019), and Satyalancana Karya Satya X from the President of Indonesia (2015).
He is a member of several scientific organizations, professional associations, hobbyist groups, and social organizations, such as the Indonesian Wood Research Society, Sakura Science Club, Korean Society of Wood Science and Technology, ASEAN Federation of Engineering Organizations, Forum of Leaders of Indonesian Forestry Higher Education Institutions, Pusaka JATI, Indonesian Engineers Association, Indonesian Lecturers Association, Indonesian Doctoral Forum, Indonesian Teachers Association, Indonesian Forestry Academic Room, Mata Garuda LPDP, Nature Lovers Rangers, Sioux Indonesia, and Blood for Life.
