Born in Ujung Pandang, South Sulawesi on July 21, 1974. In 1997, she completed her undergraduate program at the Faculty of Forestry, Bogor Agricultural University (IPB). She then pursued her postgraduate studies in Natural Resources and Environmental Management at IPB in 2000 and received her doctorate in 2009. She is currently a lecturer at the Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara. Her field of expertise is the Planning and Management of Forest and Land Resources and Environment. She is actively involved in teaching at the USU Faculty of Forestry Undergraduate Program and Master's Program in Forestry, Magister's and Doctoral Program in Agricultural Sciences, Magister's Program in Biology, Magister's and Doctoral Program in Natural Resources and Environmental Management of the USU Graduate School, as well as active as a researcher and as an expert at several government agencies and community service activities. She is actively involved in professional organizations, such as the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII), the Indonesian Forest Management Community, the Indonesian Forestry Academics House (RAKI), Indonesian Climate Change Experts, the Community Forestry Communication Forum (FKKM), HITI, INAFE, and MAFI, Regional SEARCA Alumni Association. She is also an assessor at the Indonesian Forest Professionals Certification Institution (LSP) BNSP and has been certified by LSP HI as a KPH Companion. She is actively involved as a speaker at various seminars, trainings, and workshops and has written several books. She is also an expert/team of experts at several government/private agencies. She is actively involved in professional organizations. Some of the awards and honors she has received include: High Scholastic Achievement for Academic Year 2008-2009 by Graduate School – UPLB Los Banos, Philippines, The Honor Society of Agriculture by Gamma Sigma Delta (UPLB Chapter) at Los Banos, 2009 Philippines, The Most Outstanding Lecturer of the Universitas Sumatera Utara in 2012, The Life Style Achievement Award 2013 by UKWI-USU, the Satyalancana Karya Satya 2013 Presidential Medal, the Best Academician of USU in the category of the most publications at USU in 2020, the Best Researcher of USU in 2021, and the Pioneer Engineer Award from the PII BKT HUT 2021.
