Dr. Ir. Orang Kaya Hasnanda Syahputra, MP, IPM, commonly known as Pak OK, is the second child among six siblings, born in East Aceh on October 23, 1967. He pursued his undergraduate studies at the School of Forestry Sciences in Banda Aceh, graduating in 1993 with a forestry bachelor's degree. Continuing his education, he obtained a master's degree in agriculture (MP) from Syiah Kuala University in 2004. He further pursued his doctoral studies at Bogor Agricultural University (IPB) and earned his Doctorate in 2018, specializing in forest institutional management and tenurial conflict resolution.
His professional experience began with work in Industrial Timber Plantations (HTI) in Aceh Besar from 1990 to 1992. Subsequently, he worked in Timber Harvesting Rights (HPH) in Aceh Barat from 1993 to 2000. His most recent position was with the Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Agency (BRR) for Aceh-Nias, where he worked from 2016 to 2018, addressing the aftermath of the tsunami.
Dr. Orang Kaya Hasnanda Syahputra started his career as a lecturer at the School of Forestry Sciences in Banda Aceh in 2006 and held the position until 2016. Later, in 2018 and 2019, he served as the Head of the Forestry Department at Almuslim University in Bireun, Aceh. From 2019 to 2020, he took on the role of Dean of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Animal Husbandry at the National University of Indonesia in Bireun, Aceh. Since 2020, he has been a USU Faculty of Forestry member.
Apart from his academic roles, he actively participates in various professional organizations, including the Indonesian Forest Management Community (KOMHINDO), the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII), the Assessment Council of the Professional Organization for Forestry Engineering of the Indonesian Engineers Association (BKTHut PII), and the Indonesian Environmental Scholars Association (PERWAKU) in North Sumatra. He is also involved in professional organizations within the Faculty of Forestry, such as the Mangrove Center of Excellence (PUI) and the Bamboo Center of Excellence (PUI).
