Moehar Maraghiy Harahap, S.Hut., M.Sc., was born in August 1989 and is the first of four siblings. From 2007 to 2011, he pursued his undergraduate education at Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) and successfully earned a Bachelor's degree in Forestry (S.Hut.). Subsequently, he worked as a freelancer in natural resource mapping and became a permanent employee at one of the well-known plantation companies in Indonesia. In 2014, he continued his studies at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and earned a Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in 2016. He began actively teaching at a private university in North Sumatra in the same year, simultaneously continuing his career in a large plantation company in Indonesia.
With the desire to contribute and make an impact at his alma mater, he successfully graduated and was appointed as a Lecturer at the USU Faculty of Forestry in 2019. Until now, he has been actively involved in various activities related to the Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi (Education and Teaching, Research and Development, and Community Service) and has secured various research grants. From 2022 onwards, he has been entrusted with the role of editor-in-chief at the Journal of Sylva Indonesiana, managed by the USU Faculty of Forestry and published by Talenta Publisher USU.
