Luthfi Hakim was born in Demak on October 17, 1979. He completed primary to secondary education in his hometown and continued his undergraduate studies at the Forest Products Technology Study Program, Faculty of Forestry, IPB, graduating in 2002. His master's degree was taken at the same university in the 2005-2007 period, while his doctoral degree was obtained at the Faculty of Forestry, Gadjah Mada University in 2021. Since 2003, he has been a permanent lecturer at the Universitas Sumatera Utara and has written and published in many national and international journals. Apart from being active as a journal reviewer, he previously served as Secretary of the USU Forestry Study Program and now serves as Head of the Forest Products Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara.
