Dr. Kansih Sri Hartini, S. Hut., M.P. was born in Klaten on August 18, 1972. After completing her Bachelor of Forestry (S. Hut.) in the Forest Cultivation Department, Faculty of Forestry, Gadjah Mada University (1990-1995), she then joined the Industrial Plantation Forest (HTI) of PT. Finnantara Intiga in West Kalimantan, a joint venture company between PT. Enso Forest Finland, PT. Gudang Garam, and PT. Inhutani III. Her initial position was as a Nursery Supervisor (1996-1998), responsible for planning and ensuring the smooth preparation of seedlings according to the company's targets. She later served as a Planning Supervisor (1998-1999), responsible for mapping activities and evaluating and monitoring heavy equipment activities.
In 2001, she pursued her Master's in Forestry at the Postgraduate Program, Lambung Mangkurat University, Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, and graduated as the best graduate in 2003. Since 2004, she has been a lecturer in the USU Faculty of Forestry Undergraduate Program in Forestry. In 2009, she received a scholarship from the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education (Dikti/BPPS) to pursue her Ph.D. in the Natural Resources and Environmental Management Program at the Postgraduate School, Universitas Sumatera Utara, and graduated in 2013.
During her tenure at USU Faculty of Forestry, she has been actively involved in teaching, research, and community service, resulting in various publications. Additionally, she has actively provided training on data processing at PT. Toba Pulp Lestari, Porsea, and PT. ITCI Hutani Manunggal, East Kalimantan. She has also been a member of the Expert Team for the Preparation of Forest Management Plans (RPHJP) for several Forest Management Units (KPH) in North Sumatra and the Expert Team for Pine Development at the Ministry of Environment and Forestry.
