Profile

Evalina Herawati was born in Kota Padang Sidempuan, North Sumatra, on June 27, 1977. She is of Mandailing Batak descent and is the second of five siblings. She is married to Dr. Mhd. Yadi Harahap and is blessed with two children. She pursued her higher education from undergraduate to doctoral level at IPB University. She graduated from the Faculty of Forestry with a major in Forest Product Technology in 2001 for her Bachelor's degree, followed by a Master's degree in Forestry Science in 2007, and finally, a Doctorate in Forest Product Science and Technology in 2018. Throughout her academic journey, she received scholarships from the Supersemar Foundation, the Ministry of Education and Culture's Postgraduate Education Scholarship (BPPS), and the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education's Domestic Postgraduate Education Scholarship (BPPDN).

Since 2003, Dr. Eva has been working as a lecturer in the USU Faculty of Forestry Undergraduate Program in Forestry. From 2010 to 2013, she served as an Academic Advisor under the Vice Dean 1 of the Faculty of Agriculture. From 2019 to 2021, Dr. Eva held the position of the USU Faculty of Forestry Master's Program. Since 2023, she has been the Secretary of the Undergraduate Program in Forestry. As a lecturer, she actively engages in the three pillars of higher education: education, research, and community service through various activities.

She teaches courses such as Wood Structure and Properties, Wood Mechanics, Furniture Design and Forest Product Crafts, Wood Drying and Preservation, and Wood as a Building Material. Her expertise lies in wood's fundamental properties, mechanics, and connections, which she applies through research, publications, and dissemination in national and international seminars. She received the Satyalancana Karya Satya X award from the President of Indonesia in 2023.

Apart from her contributions to education, she is actively involved in professional organizations, being a member of the Indonesian Wood Research Society.
