Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si. officially leads Universitas Sumatera Utara for the 2026–2031 period together with the Vice Rectors and the University Secretary. This leadership is expected to strengthen governance, academic development, research, and the institution’s competitiveness at the national and international levels.

Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) has officially entered the 2026–2031 leadership period under the Rector Prof. Dr. Muryanto Amin, S.Sos., M.Si.

 

During this period, the Rector will be supported by the Vice Rectors and the University Secretary, who have been appointed to carry out strategic functions in various areas of university development.

The following is the leadership structure of Universitas Sumatera Utara for the 2026–2031 period:

 

  • Vice Rector I (Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Alumni Affairs)
    Prof. Dr. Poppy Anjelisa Zaitun Hasibuan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt.

  • Vice Rector II (Human Resources, Finance, and Information Systems)
    Dr. Muhammad Arifin Nasution, S.Sos., M.SP.

  • Vice Rector III (Research, Innovation, and Cooperation)
    Prof. Dr. Eng. Himsar Ambarita, S.T., M.T.

  • Vice Rector IV (Planning, Infrastructure, and Business)
    Dr. Muhammad Anggia Muchtar, S.T., MM.IT.

  • University Secretary
    Ir. Ikhsan Siregar, S.T., M.Eng., Ph.D.

 

With this leadership composition, USU is expected to become stronger in governance, more progressive in academic and research development, and more robust in building collaborations at both national and international levels.

 

This momentum marks a strategic step toward becoming a university that is excellent, adaptive, and impactful for society.
