Five distinguished speakers from Indonesia and abroad delivered guest lectures and general lectures for students of the Forestry Study Program, Faculty of Forestry, during the Even Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year, sharing their expertise, professional experiences, and insights to enrich students' academic learning.

During the Even Semester of the 2025/2026 Academic Year, the Forestry Study Program, Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU) hosted five distinguished speakers from both Indonesia and abroad through a series of guest lectures and general lectures. These sessions provided students with valuable opportunities to gain knowledge, broaden their perspectives, and learn from experts with diverse professional and academic backgrounds.

Among the invited speakers were two presenters who participated in the End-of-Semester General Lecture (KUAS) as part of the Project-Based Learning (PBL) implementation for the Forestry Policy and Regulations course.

The invited speakers were:

  1. Dr. Tetra Yanuariadi (International Tropical Timber Organization – ITTO)
  2. Dr. Ratih Damayanti (National Research and Innovation Agency – BRIN)
  3. Prof. Dr. rer. nat. Bernhard Grimm (Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin)
  4. Yepta Jaya Sahputra Barus, S.Hut. (Medan Social Forestry Center)
  5. Muammar BM, S.Hut. (PETAI Foundation)

The guest lecture and general lecture sessions were hosted and moderated by the following faculty members:

  1. Dr. Ir. Luthfi Hakim, S.Hut., M.Si., IPU., ASEAN Eng.
  2. Dr. Agr. Faujiah Nurhasanah Ritonga, S.Hut., M.Si.
  3. Dr. Oding Affandi, S.Hut., M.Si.

These activities reflect the Faculty of Forestry USU's commitment to enriching students' learning experiences by connecting them with experts from academia, research institutions, international organizations, government agencies, and non-governmental organizations. Through these interactions, students gain broader perspectives on current developments in forestry, research, policy, and sustainable forest management while strengthening their academic and professional competencies.
