The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara, is once again conducting the Forester Internship program for the Odd Semester of Academic Year 2025/2026. This year, more than 70 students will be placed in various institutions, including the Orangutan Information Center (OIC), Leuser Ecosystem Foundation (YEL), Gunung Leuser National Park Headquarters (BBTNGL), and the Indonesian Rare Tree Forum (FPLI). In addition, students will be involved in conservation programs, forest management, and mangrove development across different regions of North Sumatra.
The Dean of the USU Faculty of Forestry stated that this internship is not only a curriculum requirement but also an essential preparation for students to face professional challenges and make tangible contributions to environmental conservation.
With internship locations spanning from South Tapanuli, Langkat, Medan, to Mursala Island, students are expected to gain valuable experience while building professional networks with various stakeholders in the forestry sector.
