The Faculty of Forestry USU implements flexible academic arrangements. Friday lectures are now conducted online, while thesis defenses continue to be held offline on weekdays.

The Faculty of Forestry, Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), informs all members of its academic community—including lecturers, administrative staff, and undergraduate and graduate students—that adjustments to work patterns and the implementation of academic activities have been introduced with a more flexible approach.
This policy follows the Rector’s Letter of Universitas Sumatera Utara Number 8527/UN5.1.R/HK.05/2026 dated April 11, 2026, as well as the outcomes of the academic meeting held on April 13, 2026.
The following adjustments should be noted:
- Friday lectures will be conducted online.
- Practical sessions on Fridays are temporarily suspended.
- Proposal seminars and final seminars on Fridays will be conducted online.
- Thesis defenses will be held offline from Monday to Thursday.
- Students conducting research on Fridays and using laboratory facilities must coordinate with the Head of Laboratory and relevant laboratory staff.
These adjustments are expected to enhance flexibility and effectiveness in the implementation of academic activities within the Faculty of Forestry USU.
